UACS students attend summer school in Prague

UACS students Ivana Stojanoska and Dragica Marenceva from the School of Business Economics and Management attended a prestigious summer school at the American Institute for Political and Economic Studies (AIPES), organized by George Washington University, USA, and Charles University, Czech Republic. The summer school was held in Prague and lasted from the 5th to the 27th of July, 2011, at Charles University, where over 120 students were in attendance. The focus of the presentations was put on the political and economic systems of various countries in the world, consisting of top political and economic scholars and professors from EU and USA. Additional activities were organized in order for students to better familiarize themselves. 

The UACS students received a scholarship from the American Studies Fund in Washington, which covered the accommodation expenses. Alumni member of AIPES, Anita Popovska, also attended the summer school, where she had the honor of sharing her past experiences with this school in 2007 with the students. 

The certificates for attendance were given to the students on the 26th of July at Charles University by Rector Vaclav Hampl, PhD, Dean of the School for Social Sciences at Charles University Jakub Koncelik, PhD, Roger Pelon, PhD, a professor at George Washington University, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Mr. Vuk Jeremic, representatives of the diplomatic corps, and special guest Mr. Boris Tadic, President of Republic of Serbia, who received the Polak Award for achievements in democratic and reform processes in Central and Eastern Europe for 2011.

UACS will continue with the international collaboration by participating at events organized by prestigious foreign institutions.
