Second Debate Contest 14.05.2013

Committed to raising social awareness, fostering critical and argumentative thinking, and improving English language skills, the Debate Club is proud to announce the Second UACS Debate Contest organized by the UACS Debate Club and the School of Foreign Languages under the coordination of Ms. Ivana Trajanoska, MA. Two teams composed of students from School of Business Economics and Management, School of Foreign Languages, and School of Political Sciences will debate on the following topic: Should democracy be imposed on countries? The Event will take place on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at 12:30 in Amphitheater 1.

Тhe School of Foreign Languages invites you to attend a lecture by Ms. Susan C. Pearce under the topic: “Transitions from Gender-Based Violence in Today's Balkans”. This is an opportunity to hear about the recent history of U.S. immigrants, refugees, and asylees who escaped gender-based violence from the Western Balkan countries that are not yet members of the EU by a sociologist with a longstanding career. Mr. Walter Kolbow, guest lecturer at UACS 06.03.2013

Walter Kolbow was a member of the German Bundestag in the period of 1980-2009. Here he was from 1994 to 1998 Defense policy spokesman of the SPD parliamentary group. From 2005 to 2009 Kolbow was Deputy Chairman of the SPD Parliamentary Group in the areas of foreign policy, development policy, defense and human rights. From 1998 to 2005 he was Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Defense. In 2009 he announced his retirement from politics. Currently Walter Kolbow is president of the Deutsch-Mazedonische Gesellschaft in Germany (http://www.makedonische-gesellschaft.de/). He resided in Macedonia in the period of 1999-2000 as Federal Commissioner of the coordination of humanitarian assistance during the war in Kosovo.
Essay Competition 22.02.2013
