Educational Intent
The School of Architecture and Design strives to meet the ever-changing demands of the architectural and design professions. We continually adapt our educational objectives to meet the fundamental goals of society. Architecture, design and related disciplines are integrative professions that require lifelong learning and exploration. Excellence requires the mental agility to learn new disciplines and to effectively communicate new ideas. At the School of Architecture and Design, we give students the skills they need to adapt and thrive in a challenging professional environment.
To enhance this training, we instruct students in oral and written communication, research methods, problem analysis and critical thinking.
While studying Architecture and Design, students will develop the necessary skills to fill the gap between advanced design and the business management facet in the architecture field. Most architects are, in fact, entrepreneurs and vocational designers who face business responsibilities without adequate tools and training. This program addresses the design implications of business decisions and vice versa.
The combination of hands-on practice and teamwork with innovative on-line teaching methods creates a new, advanced and culturally diverse platform, exposing students to an international network of professional contacts in professors, corporate collaborators and of course, fellow students, equipping them with up-to-date specialized skills that they will need as they embark on their career.
