UACS professor Marjan Petreski participated at the Research Club of the National Bank of Macedonia, presenting his paper: "Grooming classifications: Exchange rate regimes and growth in transition economies" which has been accepted to appear in 52(3): Eastern European Economics.

UACS launches the web site Migrants' Remittances in the Western Balkans with the objective to gather research, data, researchers and institutions doing research on migration and remittances at one place. The web has been built within the project "To consume or to self-employ: Evidence from remittances' use in Macedonia, Kosovo and Bosnia", supported by the Regional Research Promotion Program.


Our professor Marjan Petreski participated at the World Bank conference on "Doing Business Indicators: Past, Present and Future Challenges", taking place at Georgetown University, Washington DC, USA, 20-21 February 2014. He presented his paper "Regulatory environment and development outcomes: Evidence from transition economies".

Our professor Igor Velickovski publishes the article "Is the European Integration Speeding Up the Economic Convergence Process of the Central and South-Eastern European Countries? A Shock Perspectivein Empirica, forthcoming. The journal has a JCR-Thomson Reuters impact factor of 0.25.



A  lecture on "Youth self-employment in households receiving remittances in Macedonia" has been delivered by professor Marjan Petreski within his research stay at the Institute for East and Southeast European Studies - Regensburg, Germany, 15-31 January 2014. The research stay has been conducted under the umbrella of the Bavarian Ministry of Education, Science and Sports.


Our professors Marjan Petreski and Nikica Mojsoska-Blazevski publish their article "Real Wages in the Manufacturing Industry in Macedonia: The Role of Macroeconomic Factors, with Reference to Recession Times" in Economic Research Journal, 26(4), p.117-130. The journal has a JRC-Thomson Reuters impact factor of 0.273.
