Initiated by the act of signing the Memorandum of Understanding between the Milovanovic Family and the UACS Foundation, the Foundation announces the 3rd OPEN CALL for the Zlat Milovanovic Award for UACS students from North Macedonia in the academic 2025.
General Information
In memory of Professor Milovanovic, the Milovanovic family and the UACS Foundation have partnered to create a grant opportunity for students of University American College Skopje to travel, study, or have other educational international experience abroad. The UACS Foundation aims to create a professional, educational and cultural cooperation with the Family Milovanovic, by establishing the honorary Zlat Milovanovic Award.
About the Award
„Les voyages forment la jeunesse” is the phrase that appears in the Zlat Milovanovic Award logo. The phrase translates from French to mean “Тravel Shapes Youth,” and this grant supports exactly that. About prof. Milovanovic
Professor Zlat Milovanovic taught at universities for over 45 years and was associated at UACS for 13 years. He learned French as a child, Spanish as a teenager, and many more languages throughout his life. He studied and traveled the world, starting with a UN fellowship to visit Latin America, and later earning an MA and PhD in France, as well as a second PhD in the United States. As a professor, Zlat encouraged his students to learn languages, study and travel abroad, explore beyond their borders, and gain the experience that would later serve them both personally and professionally, both in North Macedonia and when representing their country abroad.
