We are delighted to announce that the 8th International Conference of the Word and Music Association Forum (WMAF), which will take place from May 21 to 23, 2026 in Skopje (Macedonia), will be hosted by the UACS School of Foreign Languages.
The theme of this biennial conference is:
“Sacrum et Profanum in Words and Music”
We warmly invite proposals that explore the sacred and the profane in their various manifestations, intersections, and negotiations in literature, music, and the broader field of word and music studies. Topics may include sacred and profane motifs, genre and form, ritual and performance, cultural and spiritual transformations, and pedagogical approaches, among many others.
We encourage contributions from a wide range of disciplines including literary studies, musicology, theology, philosophy, history of ideas, art history, political science, gender studies, and more.
