Lecture by NASA Scientis and Expert Dr. Thomas Fronst Hanisco
In a powerful blend of science, education, and international collaboration, students from the University American College Skopje (UACS) and the American High School Skopje (AHSS) were treated to an inspiring lecture on air quality delivered by NASA scientist, Dr. Thomas Frost Hanisco. Organized by the Delta Mu Delta Pi Alpha Chapter and UACS Alumni Association, in cooperation with the U.S. Embassy in Skopje, the event spotlighted the importance of environmental awareness and scientific innovation.
The NASA expert discussed how their science centre monitors atmospheric pollution—detailing the types of pollutants they track, the sophisticated instruments employed, and the innovative technologies developed to enhance air quality monitoring. He also highlighted the cutting-edge systems used for satellite-based observation and emphasized the global implications of air quality on public health and climate change. Students engaged in dynamic discussions and gained insights into how environmental research can drive policy and change. The lecture not only deepened their understanding of global challenges but also ignited interest in STEM careers and international scientific cooperation.
Huge thanks to the U.S. Embassy Skopje, Delta Mu Delta Pi Alpha, the UACS Alumni Association, and the brilliant mind of Dr. Thomas Frost Hanisco for making this event a true milestone in educational outreach. With such inspiring collaboration, the future of science is in excellent hands.
