The University American College Skopje (UACS) has elected a new Rector. Following elections held across all academic units of the University, Prof. Venera Krliu PhD has been chosen to assume this key leadership position, with her mandate officially beginning on October 1, 2025.

With this appointment, UACS announces the beginning of a new phase of development, centered on high-quality education, strengthening international partnerships, and enhancing research capacity.

In her first statement following the election, Prof. Venera Krliu expressed gratitude for the trust placed in her and emphasized that she sees the new mandate not only as a personal achievement but as a shared opportunity to continue building on the values that define UACS. “I am deeply grateful for the trust. I see this mandate not only as an individual success, but as a shared opportunity to continue building a university that nurtures and develops openness, innovation, and most importantly – people,” said Prof. Krliu.

She also pointed out that UACS in the upcoming period will focus on three strategic pillars: students and quality education, development of academic and research capacity, and the further strengthening of the university’s corporate culture.

The mandate of current Rector Prof. Marjan Bojadjiev PhD will continue until its official conclusion on October 1, 2025. The University extends its sincere appreciation for his leadership and contributions over the past years.

As UACS celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, this transition stands as a reflection of the institution’s maturity and continued evolution. The new mandate represents both continuity in values and a fresh approach – one centered on creativity, ethics, and a strong team culture.
