PROJECTS
On-going Project
The Global University Entrepreneurial Spirit Students' Survey (GUESSS) is one of the largest entrepreneurship research projects in the world. The main focus of the research is collecting data on the entrepreneurial intentions of students worldwide, as well as their intentions to take over family businesses. The research is periodic in nature and is conducted every 2–3 years using the same questionnaire across the various countries participating in the study. In each country, one scientific research team is responsible for collecting data and has one principal investigator. The research teams collect data through communication with universities in their respective country.
The research organizers propose a questionnaire for each wave of the survey, which is then reviewed and adopted. The questionnaire is supported by an appropriate theoretical framework and referenced scientific instruments for data collection. Data collection takes place through a centralized online data collection system into which translations of the questionnaire in various languages can be inserted. The data from each year is stored in a single global database, and each country also has its own separate database. Longitudinal databases are also produced, in which data from at least 3 consecutive survey waves are harmonized. The use of the data is open to all representatives of the research teams from each country. For other interested researchers, access to the database is granted through a request for approval to use the research data.
