Strengthening Academic Collaboration: UACS at the University of Szeged
From October 12–16, 2026, UACS representatives attended academic events organized by the University of Szeged West Balkans Centre in Szeged, Hungary, contributing to collaborative research and interdisciplinary academic exchange.
On October 12, Prof. Marija Andonova and Asst. Prof. Stefan Tanevski participated in the Centre’s 3rd Scientific Conference, where they co-authored a research paper with colleagues from the University of Szeged entitled “Beyond Financial Hardship: Institutional Trust, Labour-Market Insecurity and Emigration Intentions in the Western Balkans and Hungary.”, a study exploring how institutional trust and labour-market insecurity relate to emigration intentions across the region.
The academic engagement continued from October 13–16, as Asst. Prof. Stefan Tanevski and Teaching Assistant Teodora Kochovska attended the West Balkans Centre Autumn Academy. The interdisciplinary programme brought together participants to discuss pressing regional and international issues, including migration, human rights, democratic governance, conflict resolution, and European integration.
Experiences that foster valuable academic exchange and a deeper understanding of the challenges shaping our region.
